Hadrians Wall in 48 Hours – AID Challenge

A group of AID supporters is gearing up to walk the 66 mile stretch of Hadrian’s Wall from Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle, in 48 hours, from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th August.

They aim to raise £10,000 to support AID’s projects in South Sudan and Kenya:

  • Healthcare training to save lives.
  • Clean water and hygiene education to reduce disease.
  • Microfinance to combat poverty through enterprise.
  • Church strengthening through Bible training.

You can support the walkers here.

Or even join in?

Join in with the Hadrian’s Wall Walk

You would be welcome to join the walkers or could even do your own Hadrian’s Wall walk with friends or family over the same timeframe, 13 – 15 August, raising funds using the same Just Giving page.

Join in for a Day

Alternatively, you could join the 48-hour walkers for their full day’s walk on Saturday 15 August. It is the most beautiful 17 ½ mile stretch of the Wall. They will start from Bocolitia Roman Fort car park at 8 am and finish at Birdoswald Roman Fort car park at 8 pm.

Join in for a Short Walk

The 48-hour walkers will be pausing for lunch on Saturday 14 August between 13:00 and 14:00. They will meet with friends and family at the lookout point close to the Steel Rigg car park.

We would be delighted if you would join them (but do please bring your own picnic). You could tie this in with walking a stretch of the wall from the car park pre- or post-lunch! Note. It might be worth starting early (before the weekend crowds arrive) to get a parking space.
