New CEO for AID
We are delighted to announce that Robin Whaley will become the new CEO of Anglican International Development at the end of March.
Robin comes to AID after serving for 12 years as a missionary team leader in Kosovo with Operation Mobilisation, where he and his wife, Alice, were focused on gospel work, disciple making and community development.
Kosovo is 94% Sunni Muslim. After learning the Kosovan dialect of Albanian, and embarking on gospel ministry, he also set up a Kosovan online evangelism outreach project.
But alongside promoting the gospel, Robin has also always had a heart for the materially poor and he believes strongly in the transformative power of the gospel to change hearts and lives. It was because of his compassion for those struggling in life that in Kosovo, working through the local church, Robin supported drug addicts, victims of domestic violence and vulnerable young people.
Robin and Alice both hail from Newcastle upon Tyne, although they met while studying at Cambridge University where they were both involved in the Christian Union.
Having recently returned from Kosovo, Robin, Alice and their children will be living in Newcastle and will be attending St. Joseph’s Church, Benwell.
In looking forward to leading the work of AID, Robin writes:
“In East Africa, Anglican churches are preaching Christ and serving the poor in some of the toughest situations in the world. For over fifteen years, AID has been standing alongside faithful Christian brothers and sisters providing gospel and practical support. I feel honoured to join this work, and, with God’s help, look forward to steering AID through its next chapter.
I am also especially looking forward to meeting AID supporting church families and partners in UK, Europe and Africa.”
If you wish to get in touch with Robin you can email him on info@interanglicanaid.org
Please pray for Robin as he begins to take on his new job, starting as CEO on Friday 27 March.
