Thank you! We have been blown away by the generosity and support of so many for our 2025 Microfinance appeal. We have even surpassed our target of £10,000 and all of our match funding is now used up.

When Jacqueline (middle of front row) lost her husband to cancer in 2003, South Sudan was still in the middle of a bitter civil war. Eight years later, independence brought hope—but not before Jacqueline had lost six of her nine children to preventable diseases caused by poor sanitation and malnutrition. Without resources or skills, she struggled to survive
Yet now at the age of 56, Jacqueline and 11 other close friends meet every Thursday at 3pm at the back of St. Mark’s church in Juba to study the Bible together and to encourage each other in their business ventures. Each woman has used microfinance loans to build their livelihoods, and they now save money together in a metal safe kept under a concrete slab in Jacqueline’s home – a safety net for medicines, food and school fees to lift each other up in times of crisis.
For Jacqueline and hundreds of other women with similar stories, AID’s microfinance projects in Juba, Yei and Rokon in South Sudan, are a lifeline at a time of high inflation where the threat of war is still just around the corner.
We are so grateful for all the ways AID’s supporters underpin these gospel projects – through prayers, donations, and encouragement. Thank you!
